An Uninvited Guest: What A Surprise!
An uninvited guest presented himself in the backseat of my pickup truck. I left my Chevy Silverado unlocked, which I rarely do, because it was parked in a safe place. I also left the door open because I was unloading horse equipment. After organizing my horse stuff I got back in the truck and closed the door. I put the key in the ignition, started up the engine and was on my way home.
All of a sudden, someone came from behind and started kissing my neck. It put a whole new meaning into the word fear. Without thinking, I immediately pulled over & slammed on the brakes. My backseat guest tumbled over into the front seat. It was Oz, the puppy that resides at the farm I just left. He follows me all over when I am there and loves hopping into my truck. Because I was in a hurry, I never bothered to check the backseat of my pickup for furry puppies.
I turned the truck around and drove Oz home where he belonged. His human family was glad to see him, and have since put up invisible fencing.
Next time I’ll check the inside of the truck before I leave the barn.
