-

Downloading of apps, photos, videos, music and other digital content fill the Android smartphones and tablets quickly, and resultantly, you get an error message stating that you do not have enough storage available.

However, you can add more storage to your Android device through several ways. Here are some of them.

MicroSD Card:

Attaching a MicroSD card is the easiest way to get more storage on your Android device.

These cards are available in various sizes with different speeds and accessories and before purchasing, you should first check that which one is compatible with your device.

If your smartphone or tablet natively not support MicroSD, you can attach one on the temporary basis by connecting a MicroSD card reader in device’s Micro-USB port.

You can also attach a MicroSD your phone using a wireless microSD card reader such as RAVPower Filehub, which costs $32.

However, to access the files of MicroSD card, you will need to install the app of the wireless card reader on your device from the Google Play Store.

A great thing about RAVPower Filehub is that it lets you create a secure Wi-Fi network of up to five devices, which means your share photos, videos, music or other media and working files between your family and friends.

Delete Unwanted Apps and Clear App Cache:

Look at your device’s folders; there may be several apps you are no longer interested in using. Just uninstall these unwanted apps, and if you need any of them later, you can download it again.

Do not hesitate from uninstalling an app you had purchased from Google Play Store as you won’t have to pay again when you will re-install it after logging into your Google account.

Even, the apps you frequently use could be occupying extra space in the form of cached files, and you can free some room by clearing them.

There are two ways to clear app cache. Either switch to your Android’s Recovery mode and choose to wipe the whole app cache at once or go to Settings, Apps to review each app and clear the cache as needed.

The process of entering in recovery mode could be different for all phones and tablets, and if you choose this option, search on Google how to do it on your device.

Cloud Storage:

Cloud storage services can also help you in freeing up some space on your Android device.

Popular cloud platforms such as Google Drive and Dropbox let you store Mircosoft Office documents, photos, videos, music or anything else online.

Once uploaded to the storage site, you can delete them from your device to free up space.

However, a flip side of cloud storage is that you will need to connect your device to the internet every time you want to access the stored files.

Wireless Hard Drive:

You can also use a wireless hard drive to get more storage space on your Android device. A wireless HDD lets you transfer files from your mobile or stationary devices and access the content stored inside using WiFi or Bluetooth.

Wireless hard drives are powered by a battery, which the most manufacturers claim that lasts nearly six hours while streaming media constantly and more than 20 hours in idle standby status.

These drives cost as little as $100 for 50 gigabytes of storage.
