Days Japan International Photojournalism Awards es uno de los certámenes anuales más prestigiosos de fotoperiodismo y en su decimotercera edición se han presentado fotógrafos de 84 países, siendo uno de los ganadores el español José Manuel López

Hace tan solo nueve meses que José Manuel López fue liberado del secuestro que sufrió junto con otros dos fotoperiodistas españoles: Antonio Pampliega y Ángel Sastre en Alepo, Siria. Nueve meses en los que ha seguido trabajando y ha conseguido ganar uno de los premios internacionales de fotoperiodismo más imnportantes.

Her grandfather was shot by mistake few minutes before on the top of the roof. The Iraqis Special Operations Forces (Isof 1, Golden Division, ISF) are searching houses of Cogjali, a eastern district of Mosul. Young and adult men are quickly interviewed. Most of the time, civilians feel insecure while fighters of lsof, still under the threat of snipers and car bombs, feel being in hostile territory. Premio del público y premio de los editores

Tanto los lectores de la revista Days Japan, como el público en general, también votaron por sus fotos favoritas, aunque este premio se dio a conocer más tarde, el 2 de marzo, los ganadores fueron Aris Messinis de AFP con esta serie de imágenes de migrantes rescatados en la costa Libia y Yoshifumi Kawabata con este reportaje sobre los refugiados del Sur de Sudán en Uganda.

Por su parte los editores entregaron un premio especial al espectacular trabajo de Alessio Romenzi que ofrece una perspectiva diferente; la lucha del ejército Libio contra ISIS en la que «no van a capturar prisioneros»
